Study Abroad Housing Florence
Study abroad housing Florence listings on this page are furnished rooms in shared flats, for students arranging their own stay rather than taking housing from a program. We list 152 of these rooms, from €250 a month with a median of €450. Each listing shows its own rent and the date the room becomes free.

Check with your program first
Many programs in Florence place students in apartments they arrange themselves, and some require it. Ask your program whether you may live independently before you pay for anything.
If your program leaves housing to you, or you are enrolled directly at a school, study abroad housing Florence listings like these are one place to start.
What a room in a shared flat includes
You rent one bedroom and share the kitchen and living areas. Every room lists wifi, about nine in ten list a cleaning service and about six in ten are in flats with a terrace or balcony.
Flats here are smaller than in Madrid: the typical one holds six people. Fewer than four in ten rooms are in a building with an elevator, and fewer than one in ten list air conditioning.
Dates for a fall or spring semester
When we checked in November 2026, 40 of the 152 rooms showed a free date by the end of January and 65 by the end of February. Another 26 became free in June or July.
Spring is a busy semester in Florence, so students arriving in January should look as soon as they know their dates.
Where the rooms are
Rooms are spread around the centre and the streets just outside it, including Viale dei Mille, Via Giuseppe la Farina, Borgo Ognissanti and Via del Bronzino. About half cost under €500 a month, and those are mostly outside the old centre.
If you know your school, our pages for students near Lorenzo de' Medici and Florence University of the Arts show what is close to each one.
Booking from the United States
You can reserve before you fly. Rent on these listings is shown in euros, so check the exchange rate when you set your budget.
To book, you upload two forms of identification and pay a booking fee, which sends your request to the landlord. Your room is guaranteed once the landlord approves, and you do not need a guarantor or co-signer.
Rooms or a whole flat
We also list seven whole flats in Florence, most from €1,600 to €1,800 a month, for friends who split the rent. A room in a shared flat suits one student better.
Our Florence page shows both, along with the rest of the city.
