Which building your classes are in

FUA teaches in several buildings around the centre, including on Corso dei Tintori, Via Ricasoli and Borgo Pinti. This page measures from Corso dei Tintori, and the others are close enough that the counts change little.

Ask FUA and your home program whether you may arrange your own room before you pay for anything. Some programs include housing, and some require it.

Where the rooms are

Within about 1.5 km we list 44 rooms, including rooms across the river on Via San Niccolò, about 300 m from Corso dei Tintori. Within 3 km there are 148, on streets such as Viale dei Mille, Via Giuseppe la Farina and Borgo Ognissanti.

Rooms to the north and east, around Viale dei Mille, tend to cost less than rooms in the old centre. Distances here are straight lines, so check the walk on a map.

What these rooms include

You rent a furnished bedroom and share the kitchen and living areas with the other tenants. In this radius every room lists wifi and about nine in ten list a cleaning service.

The typical flat holds six people, and few hold more than seven. Fewer than four in ten rooms are in a building with an elevator, and fewer than one in ten list air conditioning, so ask about summer heat if you stay into June.

Dates for your semester

When we checked in November 2026, 39 of the 148 rooms showed a free date by the end of January and 64 by the end of February. Another 25 became free in June or July, ahead of the fall semester.

Florence is a popular city for spring semesters, and rooms open up a few at a time. If you start in January, look as soon as you know your dates.

What to check before you book

Check whether the room is a single or a shared bedroom, then check the bathroom and how many people live in the flat. Those details change daily life more than the street does.

Each Florence University of the Arts housing listing here shows its rent per month in euros, along with the date the room becomes free.
