Morning

Arrival and Breakfast

Take a high-speed train (AVE) or bus from Madrid to Toledo. Leave Madrid early to maximize your time in the city. Once you arrive in Toledo you should choose a local café near Plaza de Zocodover for a traditional Spanish breakfast of churros con chocolate or tostada con tomate.

Start at Toledo Cathedral

Your first stop should be the impressive Catedral Primada de Santa María, also known as Toledo Cathedral. This Gothic masterpiece, one of the most stunning in Spain, will captivate you with its soaring arches, beautiful stained glass windows, intricate chapels, and works of art by famous artists including El Greco.

*Don’t forget to visit the Cloister and the Treasury Room to see its stunning artifacts and its impressive Monstrance of Arfe.

Stroll Through the Jewish Quarter

Take a stroll through the narrow, cobblestone streets of the Jewish Quarter. As you wander, stop by the Santa María la Blanca Synagogue, which blends Gothic and Mudejar architecture, and the El Tránsito Synagogue, home to the Sephardic Museum. Midday

Alcázar of Toledo

Lunch

El Greco Museum

Don’t miss Toledo’s famed marzipan, made from almonds and sugar. Stop by Santo Tomé, a historic bakery, for the finest selection. Pair it with a coffee or a glass of local wine for a true taste of the city.

Mirador del Valle (Viewpoint)

For a stunning end to your day, head to the Mirador del Valle viewpoint. This panoramic spot is a just short taxi ride away and provides breathtaking views of the city, particularly at sunset when Toledo’s golden walls are bathed in warm light.
